Side Wall: 50 mm thick aluminium plank-sided wall. 4.2 mm inside skin, 2.8 mm outside skin. Planks are clipped together, then fully seam-welded on the inside. 45 degree side profile at base. Headboard: 4mm, with full width platform (mesh base) with ladder on offside.

SDC is the UK's largest trailer manfucturer producting nearly 10,000 trailers per annum.  Newton have worked with SDC for 26 years to produce this trailer with many hundreds of this watertight trailer in use.

The trailer is specifically designed to cope with the difficulty of carrying waste materials with a high liquid content. The floor is 8 mm thick towards the rear. The sides are almost 2 x thicker than a standard plank sider at 4.2 mm thick. Compare this to the competition. Why? - so that bones and cattle horns will not penetrate. Also in use the side will last longer and stay watertight longer.

The rear door has seal on all FOUR sides (including the top). The door is massively reinforced to cope with the liquid pressures. The door then has an over center TURNER AUTOGATE clamp system which means the door will not jump the locks and hurt the driver when discharging. 

The trailer has surge plates bolted on at the front and back and a special sheet to withstand surge.

EACH AND EVERY trailer is then part filled with water and tipped and left overnight for inspection of drips. We do many variants - some with internal doors - feathers one side, guts the other. Some with drainage - taps and drainage plates down the full length.
